Bear Alert, Trail Closed, and Loon Lockdown in Banff! 🐻 🚫 🦤

Okay, Banff fam, listen up! Things are getting a lil' spicy in the park, and you gotta stay informed to stay safe. First off, there's a bear warning on the Lake Minnewanka Trail. Apparently, a mama bear and her cubs were getting a lil' too friendly with a tent. Like, they made CONTACT. So, word to the wise: make some noise, keep your fur babies on a leash, and def pack that bear spray, just in case things get outta pocket. This sitch is supposed to last until June 15th, so stay vigilant.

But that's not all, besties. The Johnston Canyon Trail is also partly closed. Why? Endangered black swifts are trying to raise their tiny humans in peace, and we gotta respect that. So, from the lower trail sign all the way to the Ink Pots/Moose Meadows junction, it's a no-go zone. This closure is gonna be in effect until November 15th, so find a new hiking spot for now. And don't even THINK about breaking the rules, or you could get hit with a fine.

Last but not least, the north end of Vermillion Lake is also closed. This time, it's to protect some nesting loons. They need their space to do their thing, so the shoreline and nearby waters are off-limits. This closure should be over by June 27th. Again, if you're caught violating these rules, you could face a fine, so just chill and let the loons do their thing.
