The Deets

Okay, so listen up, fam. On May 28th, the B.C. SPCA pulled up to a breeder's spot in Vernon and it was not a vibe. They ended up seizing 34 Bengal cats. Why? 'Cause the whole situation was sus af. Someone snitched (good on them!), saying the cats were living in some seriously messed up conditions.

And they weren't wrong. These poor kitties were going through it. Diarrhea, ringworm, skin and ear issues - the whole shebang. Apparently, their living space was a biohazard. Dirty cages, overflowing litter boxes... and the air? Straight ammonia, which is a major health risk, no cap. Some of the cages were overcrowded, and even though there was a "catio," it wasn't enough, and some cats were stuck in cages most of the time. These Bengal cats were NOT living their best lives.

The SPCA ain't playing, tho. They're giving these cats all the love and care they need – treating their skin, testing for ringworm, and planning those spay/neuter surgeries. Word is, Bengal cats need mad specialized care, so the SPCA thinks breeding them should be regulated. As for when you can adopt these little guys? That's still a mystery.
